For them to tie our hands behind our backs and prevent us from participating in this scientific frontier would be unconscionable. We have to oppose them with everything we've got.

I'm pretty proud of our kids. They're the state champions, and they are by far the best (1A) team in the state. Our kids have come along way.

In consultation with the University Committee, we decided that people should not serve as chair of the Athletic Board for inordinately long periods of time. Many departments on campus change chairs every two years or three years. It seemed like a good thing to do.

It's a little overwhelming. Our goal was to just get to state and then once we walked through that door, take everything one more step at a time. Now for us to get fourth, it's a great feeling.

This is a terrific time for the department. So many things are going well. They're in great shape financially. A lot of teams are doing really well. A lot of new facilities. It should the beginning of another golden age in Wisconsin athletics. That hasn't always been the case.

The monkey had grown into a full-fledged gorilla. This was our goal all along, and we played with a desire to win.

Notwithstanding these factors, we believe retail sales growth in the 7% range is quite reasonable given the increased attractiveness and availability of retail projects in Fort Bend and our relative prowess in the region as a retail destination.

Against their press, we needed spacing and it took us awhile to figure that out. We've got to control the ball to be successful.

I've been on the faculty for 30 years and in administration for 20 of those, and I don't remember a time when it was worse than it is now.
